Small but mighty primary school

We may be small, but we’ve got so much to offer at Cuddington Community Primary School and Nursery.

From our extensive grounds and large playing field, to the wonderful new library and ICT suite, full cooking facilities, and the superb Jubilee Centre for pupils with communication and interaction needs.

Our thriving Nursery opened in 2018 to provide early years education for 24 children aged three to four. As well as the spacious, bright and airy classroom, there is a bespoke outdoor area where children can play, explore and learn all year round, supported by our outstanding team of staff.

“At Cuddington Nursery, our exceptional staff aim to provide a safe, happy, varied and stimulating environment where your child will thrive,” says Principal Emma Dempster. “We offer your child the opportunity to learn and explore using a wide range of activities and equipment, covering all areas of the early years curriculum, providing the best possible foundations for their future.”

Our one-form entry means pupils enjoy a seamless transition from Nursery to Reception and beyond.

“The vast majority of parents say that their children are thriving at the school,” stated Ofsted inspectors during their last visit. “Typical of most parents was one who praised the level of care that staff show towards children and the ‘fantastic opportunities for developing the children’s emotional resilience, their understanding and tolerance of others’. The parent summed up that: ‘Children are valued at this school’.”

OPAL provisions

Children throughout the school benefit from our OPAL (Outdoor Play And Learning) provision, and we recognise the importance of ‘just playing’ and ‘messy play’ when it comes to learning, along with the development of the key motor skills which are necessary for handwriting.

We have been supported at every level by our membership of The Howard Partnership Trust, a multi-academy trust comprising 13 Primary, Secondary and Special Schools across the South East of England.

Ofsted feedback

The Ofsted inspectors also noted during their last visit: “Supported by the multi-academy trust (MAT), the school has benefited from additional leadership support. Leaders have supported teachers to improve their skills through high-quality training. The approaches promoted by the MAT are having an impressive impact on pupils’ current rates of progress.”
