Nursery Environment

The Early Years classroom is special and unique with its focus on child development, effective learning characteristics and holistic approaches. The nursery classroom is set up to enable children to develop a broad range of skills and this is called the 'Continuous Provision'
Continuous provision describes all of the different provision areas which are available for your children to use every day. Within each of these areas of provision there should be a core range of resources that children can use all of the time, throughout the whole year. The children can choose to use any area of the continuous provision, usually independently but sometimes with support should this be required.

School Uniform

Whilst wearing school uniform is not compulsory for children in the Nursery, we do believe it is an important part of preparing your children for their school journey. Should you wish for your child to wear school uniform, please refer to the list below:

Day-to-Day Uniform

 PE Kit

All items of uniform are available from PMG schoolwear, all year round.

ALL ITEMS SHOULD BE CLEARLY LABELLED WITH YOUR CHILD’S NAME – INCLUDING UNDERWEAR AND BAGS.

 Essential items for Nursery

The nursery children access the outside area all year round. Although there are covered areas for the children to use, they can still be exposed to elements when learning outside. It would be incredibly helpful if the following items could be provided so the children can make full use of the environment in all weathers.

Seasonal clothing

Personal hygiene items if applicable

Special items

We ask that if your child has any special toys or comforters, they are left at home. It is more upsetting should they become lost or damaged.
